Elevanfilm OrthoX Black and White Sheet Film 4×5/40 sheets
$25.00
OrthoX is an orthochromatic, black-and-white negative film rated at ISO 200, featuring a wide exposure latitude that allows shooting within a sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 400.
Orthochromatic film, originating in the 1880s, is a classic emulsion with over a century of history. Sensitive to blue and green light but not to red, it delivers unique tonal separation—especially in rendering skin tones, red flowers, and similar subjects—offering a distinctly different visual character.
OrthoX employs a modern emulsion with high resolving power for fine details. Its dual-layer coating gently enhances highlights and reflective surfaces with a subtle, pearlescent glow, making it an exceptional and budget-friendly large-format sheet film worth experiencing.
HIGHLIGHTS:
1️⃣ Distinctive Vintage Tones, Unique Rendering – This orthochromatic film, combined with dual-layer emulsion, imparts a delicate white glow to highlights, creating ethereal, softly luminous images.
2️⃣ High EI Flexibility for Versatile Shooting – Shoot at EI 100, 200, or 400 with ease. No exposure compensation needed for long exposures up to 30 seconds.
3️⃣ Modern Emulsion, Refined Detail – Engineered for smooth grain and enhanced sharpness, delivering superior texture and clarity in every frame.
For film developments: OrthoX is a dual-layer emulsion sheet film. For flawless, scratch-free negatives, we recommend tray development using a 1mm-thick silicone mat to ensure even agitation and gentle handling. Can be developed in RED safe light.
