From an idea
to a lens.

We wanted to bring something new to 4×5 photography: the possibilities of F/1.6, in a lens made for the large frame. GrafNoct grew from that ambition into a team project.

Dr. Sun leads optical design. Rayfor develops the mechanics. Our wider team manages the project and production, bringing their work together in a finished lens with a CNC-machined aluminium barrel.

Inside Elevanfilm

Film users.
Tool makers.

We’re photographers, designers and makers. The things we make start with the cameras we use and the questions they leave us with.

Today, our work centres on wide-format backs and camera accessories, using 3D printing, CNC machining and laser engraving.
